NextEra partners with GPD to design and develop EV charging sites throughout Florida as a part of FPL’s EVolution program. Sites include gas stations, shopping malls, restaurants, DOT travel plazas, parking garages, and other popular destinations. GPD became their firm of choice due to our EV site design expertise, experience working within the geographical region, and our industry knowledge of EV charging equipment.

As NextEra’s go-to A/E partner, GPD provides complete site/civil, electrical, and structural engineering for each EV charging site. Our team has designed 117+ sites across Florida, including 475+ DCFC stalls. Additional services include permit coordination, equipment selection guidance, on-site battery integration, and site-specific solutions.

Our team developed an internal template for design standards that allows NextEra and GPD to move at the speed necessary to design and deploy the large number of sites within this program. Our partnership with NextEra has grown into GPD becoming a trusted advisor for all things EV and Energy. Projects now span solar and battery integration, linear natural gas generators, and fleet charging.
