A Revitalized, Historic Home for South Euclid Library

Since the 1990s, GPD has provided architectural and engineering services for numerous branches of the Cuyahoga County Public Library. Projects have ranged from full architecture and engineering services to mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades to assessments.

Recently, the Cuyahoga County Public Library wished to replace an under-performing branch in South Euclid, located in a beloved, historic mansion, with a new state-of-the-art facility to better meet the needs of the community. The GPD team was tasked with providing a facility that meets the future needs of the community while respecting the aesthetics of the former building. Our team developed a plan for the new branch across from Notre Dame College that not only provides for the efficient functioning of the branch but also respects the urban forest, wishes of the community and aesthetic of the previous building.
