Helping Alief ISD Find the Perfect Facility

Alief ISD needed to identify a structure that could be repurposed to satisfy the professional development needs of the district, including staff training as well as flexible spaces to accommodate banquets, performances, fine art functions and other gatherings of up to 600 people. GPD assisted district administrators and their real estate professionals in the search for an available property that was in good condition, conveniently located and able to accommodate the high volumes required for large meeting rooms.

Before the sale of the chosen 100,000-square-foot building was finalized, GPD began programming, planning and designing the new Talent Development Center. A west-facing curtain wall allows views into the gallery, while a large canopy with aluminum louvers protects visitors on the outside from rain and occupants on the inside from the sun. Additionally, meeting rooms feature digital presentation and sound to bring events to life and the entire building is served by highly efficient HVAC systems.
